A Rising Community of Practice: Driving a Data-Driven Student Success Vision
Through collaborative teamwork, intuitive leadership, and a campus community that is excited to increase its data acuity, UCI is building a data culture focused on enhancing the whole student experience through data driven decision making.
This presentation will explore strategies and best practices for building a strong and effective data-driven university Community of Practice (CoP.) We will begin by discussing the benefits of CoPs and the key elements of successful CoPs. We will then delve into practical tips for launching a CoP, such as identifying a core group of members, defining the group’s purpose and goals, establishing communication channels, and marketing for campus-wide adoption. We will also examine strategies for sustaining a CoP over time, including fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, providing ongoing support and resources, and leveraging technology to enhance collaboration. Throughout the presentation, we will share examples of what has and has not worked on our campus and provide actionable tips and insights for attendees looking to launch or strengthen their own communities of practice.
